Phrases I hate being told whilst full term pregnant

There is no doubt about it that being full term pregnant is stressful as it is. However one thing i've found to be a little bit more challenging this time round is the constant hounding of messages that seem to have a flow of a pattern to whats being said. I'm all for people asking how you are, but when you're hormones are higher than the Empire State Building and you're exhausted enough from not only cooking a fully grown baby and parenting a pretty-much three year old, sometimes it can all get a little too much for me. Here's a few things that have been said to me that are officially in my blocked category...

My thoughts and worries for labour the second time round

There is no doubt about it that I left the hospital after giving birth to Harry feeling nothing but trauma and violation. Of course I knew that labour was never going to be an easy ride, the pain is excruciating yet the whole giving birth is somewhat magical to me. I never thought about Labour when I was pregnant with harry, I never done any form of breathing exercises and to be honest, I kind of pushed it at the back of my mind. Maybe that's why I struggled so much, I was never prepared for how traumatic and painful labour can be. I thought in my mind that maybe It was going to be a horrible case of period pains, but in fact it's much much worse.

look fantastic beauty box MARCH

I love opening my beauty boxes each month, mainly because I'm always finding something new to try and the amount of new favourite products I have from subscription boxes is insane! This months theme is "BEAUTY BEYOND BOUNDARIES" and its really to do with feeling comfortable within your skin which is something I am so passionate about, and I truly believe everyone should love and not hate their flaws.

we're pregnant and have reached the second trimester!

If you follow me on my social media you will know that we're pregnant again! We both feel so lucky and blessed to experience this all over again, especially after our miscarriage last year, we finally got our rainbow baby. I still feel so lost for words right now, and I don't think I will ever be able to speak on behalf of my excitement, but we really are feeling so blessed.

We finally got rid of the do-do, aka dummy!

Happy new year, and welcome back to my blog after what feels like a long break!

I can't believe we're in another lockdown, but I personally felt like it needed to be done; this corona is not going away! I hope you're all making good use out of the time we have at home, I know so many people are now becoming teachers at home and its so lovely to see that kids are still learning despite what's going on in todays world.

We finally got rid of the do-do aka dummy. I know we're extremely late to the party but honestly we've tried this three times already but Harry has finally given in and become a big boy! To say we're proud of him is a complete understatement, he's adapted so well and has not moaned once, which kind of shocked me a bit! I was expecting Harry to scream until he could scream no more but he wasn't phased at all; we couldn't believe it! I feel like maybe we should have done this months ago, or not even given him a dummy in the first place. We've said for our next baby we're not going to introduce a dummy, its for the best. But I feel like every child is different. I hate nothing more than comparison when it comes to children, it shouldn't ever be a comparison or god forbid a competition! Every child, even adults are so different in every way. None of us develop the same way, thats what makes us special! Harry learnt to walk early on, but spoke later on, that doesn't make him any less or more important in my eyes.

We only ever introduced the dummy purely for a comfort purpose. Harry suffered with the worst reflux as a newborn and I can only describe it as heartburn for babies. He couldn't lay flat in bed, he had to have infacol drops after every feed because his tiny little body couldn't deal with it! Giving him a dummy was another way of comforting him, telling him that everything was going to be okay. It worked for all of us and that was all we really cared about!

Moral of this blog: it doesn't matter when you do it, just as long as you do it!

Beauty gift guide for him

I don't know about anyone else, but I really dislike shopping for men. Nothing against men in general, but I find there are so many limited gifts for them! When I'm shopping for women, I find that there are so many bits you can get someone as there's a much wider range of gifts to choose from. However, I have found some beauty gifts that I hope you might like! I personally enjoy all of these brands!

Beauty Christmas gift guide | for her

Welcome to my first gift guide of 2020, I'm so excited to do these for you all as I personally love a helping hand when it comes to buying gifts for friends and family. I absolutely love Christmas shopping, but does anyone else find it sooo stressful at the same time? There are certain family members who aren't into much, and finding them gifts can be so challenging. I do sometimes like to put my own twist on gifts, kind of like adding a personal touch but for them?

How to style and oversized cardigan

Being a plus sized woman, I find it so hard to wear certain things because a lot of the time I don't suit certain outfits, but I'm okay with that. I wear what makes me feel comfortable and happy and I feel like that's such an important thing to remember if you're struggling to find an outfit to go out in, wear what makes you feel your best. I would never go out in something that makes me feel crappy, because why should we make ourselves feel down about ourselves? Positivity is key.

My November goals

Hello November! I cant believe that we're finally coming to the end of the year, and whilst I cant wait for a fresh start and hopefully some positivity, I really want to set myself some stern November goals, I feel like we've been living in such an uncertain time scale at the moment, the least we could do is bring a little positivity into our lives and create some ground-breaking rules for ourselves, I mean what else is there to do?

Smith and Kennedy halloween wax melt edition | review

What better time to try out wax melts than Halloween. Smith and Kennedy launched their halloween range, and I was most excited about it. I have found that a lot of places don't offer the best Halloween wax melts and most only seem to offer the classic pumpkin spiced latte range. I love it, but sometimes you want a bit more than the OG.  I was most excited when I received this box of goodies, as we all know wax melts hold a very special place in my heart and I honestly cant find it in me to stop buying them, my house smells of all kinds of lovely. I once again found Smith and Kennedy on Instagram and the customer service was spot on. I had a little trouble with my order and whoever I spoke to was just so lovely and reassured me everything was going to be okay and that I wouldn't miss out.

Things to consider when buying a home

I won't lie to you, I'm no expert at moving homes but we done our fair share of viewings when it came to finding the perfect home for us. If you're paying said amount for a family home, you want to tick all of the boxes so that there are no complications when you do move in. I know from our own experiences there were a lot of homes that were so pretty from the pictures, but didn't live up to our expectations which a lot of the time we were gutted about. We found that a lot of the houses either had a beautiful garden but so small inside, or huge inside but a really small garden!

Pumpkin picking 2020

I have been wanting to go Pumpkin picking for so long, and yesterday I finally got the chance to do so. I was praying to the autumnal gods that it didn't rain because we were originally booked in for last week but the rain meant that we couldn't go, I was gutted but we were so lucky with the weather yesterday thankfully. I thought id show a few photos from our day, we had the best fun and honestly I was in autumnal heaven today, I loved it and we got so many pumpkins!

sometimes you don't get over it | baby loss awareness month

I never in a million years thought I'd be the one to talk about miscarriages. To me, it was something I hear so many people go through and I never really understood what it felt like to lose a baby until I went through it myself. You hear so many women, even men speaking about the reality when it comes to any form of baby loss and it honestly makes me so proud of each and everyone; why should we feel like we gave to hide away and never speak of it? To us it changed our lives, we need to speak about it more.

Things you need to watch on Netlifx right now

There's no doubt about it that I've been watching a lot of Netflix at the moment, mainly because I was sick of watching the same things all of the time, and its actually been quite fun if I'm honest. I've been watching things I wouldn't usually reach for, but it's been good to try something new and a lot of them I have actually enjoyed watching! I do these posts quite a lot on my blog, purely because I love sharing things I'm loving at the moment!

The fall

  • I thought I'd share this one as everyone is going crazy for it at the moment. when I first started watching this, I found it quite hard to get into but I think when I got to around episode 3 I was hooked. I love the storyline and the plot, and it's actually a very sad series. I wouldn't watch this if you're not into serial killers, it can be quite a lot to take in at times, but overall it's a really good series and I thank my auntie for getting me into it, I kind of want to watch it again!!

Ratched
  • This is such a good one. I love Sarah Paulson in American horror story and she's even better in Ratched. If you're into your weird and mental asylum kind of series, then you'll love this. I personally thought it was going to be a bit more spookier for some reason, but it was equally as good and I'm really hoping they bring out a second series.

Misfits
  • I had never heard of Misfits beforehand, but Owen and I decided to start watching randomly and we ended up becoming obsessed with the show. I did find the beginning a little boring and quite hard to get into, but as the series went on I found myself in fits of laughter over certain episodes. It has typical British banter included so if you're not really into things like that then this will be a no, but I personally love it, it's so good.

A nice girl like you
  • If you don't know who Lucy Hale is, then who the hell are you?! I think she's such a good actress, she's so funny in this film and I didn't quite expect the storyline to be what it was, but I ended up loving it completely. It's honestly such a funny film, I was in stitches pretty much the whole way through; it's the perfect girls night film in my opinion.
Emily in Paris
  • If you're anything like me then you're a huge lover of Lily Collins. I first fell in love with her when I watched love, Rosie. She's such a brilliant actress and she features in this series, in fact she's the main character. It's lovely if you're into your rom-com, and also if you love Paris. It's about Emily who gets a job in Paris in a marketise firm and she begins her new life in Paris. She faces so many different tasks, meets new people, gains friends and loses loved ones. I highly recommend it, I sat and watched the whole series in one day!
I didn't want to include any more films or series as I'd like to do this more often, maybe monthly but honestly I have no idea whether I'll watch that much Netflix or not to be honest with you. Let me know any films or series you've been watching recently, I'd love to see some suggestions!

my favourite Halloween films of all time

It's that time of year again where the air getting cooler and the Pumpkin spiced lattes are upon us. Although Im a Christmas girl at heart, I do love a bit of Halloween and making the most of all the scary films there are. One of the main things I enjoy is watching scary films, there are just so many good ones out there however I do love the cringe-scary ones too, they can be quite funny! I thought I'd share a few of my favourite films I enjoy watching around Halloween time, and maybe you guys might like to try some!

Look Fantastic beauty box | review

I decided to try out a new beauty subscription as I've been subscribed for Glossybox for some time now. I haven't stopped subscribing to Glossybox I just wanted to give the Look fantastic  beauty box a go. The Look Fantastic beauty box is ranged at about £13 a month which is very much the same price as Glossybox. I love anything beauty related so I'm all up for trying different boxes because it means more beauty products to try and it's an extra special treat every month!

One of the products that stood out to me the most was the Elemis pro-collagen marine cream. I have been the biggest wanter of trying out Elemis, but the only thing that has ever put me off is the price tag. I'm really into my skincare at the moment so it'll be lovely to try this out. Another thing I was quite excited about was the Jade roller which is so popular at the moment. I feel like this would be a really good product to use during my skincare routine as its supposed to minimise the appearance of pores, and I'm experiencing really bad mask-ne at the moment.

There was a few brands I hadn't heard of before, but like I say with glossybox, I love finding new brands to try! I did think this first box was good value for money, I'm looking forward to next months box to see what else we get!

Village wax melts | review

There's no doubt about it that wax melts are growing more popular as time goes on. I never actually knew they were a thing until last year, and oh my have I been in love with them ever since. I never used to be aloud candles when I lived back home, but since we lived on our own I decided to get some because I love the mood and vibe they create, plus they smell great! Mrs Hinch first got me into them, I was fascinated over the fact this little cube of wax can scent your whole house. I loved it, and ever since I've been collecting them and gotten so many from it.

Things to do at home with a 2 year old

We've reached that time of the year where the weather is beginning to be a little less exciting for the little ones. The sun is no longer shining and giving us a tan, it sounds like my personal idea of heaven but Harry enjoys the summer too much! As parents its our job to make sure they're satisfied 24/7, and as draining as that may seem, I try and find the fun in it too. I love autumn so it's a great way for me to find exciting things to do with Harry that I know we're both going to benefit from. After all, we're both here for a good time.

We've moved!

Hello my lovelies, I've been dying to get back onto blogging but we haven't had wifi for a while because....We've moved! I kept it a secret for so long because I didn't want anything or anyone getting in the way of our dreams, but we've bought a house and I'm beyond excited for our new adventure! As some will already have known, we were living in our cosy flat beforehand. It was lovely don't get me wrong, but a rented property is never how you really want it, is it? I was hating the brown carpets and wanting grey. I wanted to change the kitchen, the bathroom etc. I began hating the flat because it was never how we would've decorated it, having our own home means we're able to decorate how we would like to, and to also have a garden!!! I can't explain how happy I am now we have a garden, for Harry to run around in it's been amazing!

I've always been into home interior from such a young age, wouldn't necessarily say that I enjoyed cleaning back then but I really can't see why I didn't because I love it now. Everyday I'm wiping things over and making everything look sparkly clean, it's my favourite thing to do. I also enjoy all the interior side of things, collecting wax melts and candles, or spending the day in b&m and home bargains finding any home interior bargains I can!

I would love to bring more home content to my blog. Talking about our plans for the house, home hauls and party organising. I love it all and would love for everyone to read it too!

I'm so excited for this new chapter in our lives, it really feels like it's going to be a good one, and something we're never taking for granted from now on is the garden and having a dishwasher!
